POSITION DESCRIPTION

The 3rd shift Supervisor will assist in the responsibilities for learning and executing the skills required to manage the North Aurora Transfer Center. These skills include but are not limited to: leading our driver group, leading our safety initiative, creating and leading a customer service culture, delivery execution, inventory management and controlling operating expenses.

Supervisor Status: 3^rd Shift- Full-Time

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE TRANSFER CENTER SUPERVISOR:

• Assist in managing the daily delivery process of Oberweis manufactured and non- manufactured products to our customer’s homes, grocery stores and our company owned dairy stores.
• Ensure procedures are being followed impacting accurate and timely receiving of inbound goods, accurate and timely picking of orders and accurate, timely, and damage free shipping of outbound orders
• Address safety issues in a timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with DOT and other governmental regulations.
• Train and educate employees on company policies and safe working habits.
• Hold employees accountable to company policies, safe working practices, and government compliance.
• Lead the cooler and freezer teams; encourage them to solve problems and deliver results by listening and asking the right questions
• Coordinate with production teams to ensure smooth transition for manufactured finished products
• Reduce special deliveries through training, coaching and accountability.
• Learn and be able to execute demand forecasting and inventory management.
• Assist in maintaining a facility sanitation program.
• Record and report key performance indicators and use these to identify areas for improvement.
• Regularly review progress with team members and commit to continuous improvement.
• Provide relief coverage where and when needed.
• Administer monthly safety training.
• Conduct daily shift huddles, may consist of weather related issues or hazards, recent near misses, product info.
• Assist with routing issues.
• Must be able to effectively communicate with drivers/management.
• Ensure adherence to the truck schedule or modify the truck schedule to fit particular needs of the shift without disruption to other shifts.
• Inventory management and proper stock rotation (FIFO) is critical in this role

HOURS

Generally, 9:00pm to 6:00am or as business dictates. Must be flexible.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, including the duties of our drivers while ensuring our warehouse is meeting the needs of the company.
