Position Type: Part-time hourly, starting at $25/hr

Job Requirements: Prior Accounts Receivable experience

Education: Accounting, Finance, or Business 2 year degree or equivalent work experience

Responsibilities:

Position Summary: The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for maintaining the accounts receivable ledger, by managing collections and cash applications. This role supports home delivery, wholesale, and distributor billing processes, while collaborating with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and provide outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Generate and distribute accurate invoices promptly to customers.
• Monitor and track outstanding balances; follow up to ensure timely payments.
• Maintain and reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure accurate and timely receipt of payments.
• Manage collection activities and send follow-up inquiries using mail-merge or other communication tools.
• Submit delinquent accounts to collection agencies as necessary.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with wholesale clients to understand discounts, facilitate payments, and resolve billing issues.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies and customer inquiries.
• Research and resolve customer disputes in a timely and professional manner.
• Prepare and analyze AR reports to identify trends and recommend process improvements.
• Manage daily cash functions, including cash application, ACH returns, credit card declines, and bank-related matters.
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries related to AR and cash activity.
• Perform office administrative duties and other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Skill Expectations:

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions, and experienced with mail merge
• Highly efficient and detail-oriented with strong communication skills and proven leadership abilities
• Assertive and responsive, with a proactive approach to team collaboration and task execution
• Quick learner focused on process improvement and adaptable to a variety of responsibilities
• Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles
• Capable of working independently while effectively supporting colleagues on the accounting team
