Job Summary

The District Manager has overall responsibility for the smooth operation of all stores in their region, including, but not limited to, maintaining quality and store cleanliness standards and delivering excellent customer service. This position trains and directs as opposed to physically doing them.

Reporting Relationship: The District Manager reports directly to the Sr. Vice President of Retail Operations.

Employment Type: Fulltime

Salary Range: $75- $100k

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensures that each Oberweis Store within the region operates within the policies and guidelines set down by the Company.
• Ensures that all stores maintain quality, service, cleanliness, safety and security standards, directs managers to take action to correct deviations from those standards.
• Participates in developing sales and marketing objectives with the Vice President of Retail Operations and Store Managers. Once developed, helps implement and manage objectives.
• Reports to the Vice President of Retail Operations the status of the region. This report should include but not be limited to the following information: competition in local markets, personnel issues, quality of suppliers/vendors, changes in sales patterns, operational concerns and training/development issues.
• Supervises training and development of store personnel including managers.
• Recognize and help maintain adequate staffing levels in each store to achieve optimal results.
• Conduct interviews, hire, terminate and appraise performance on management employees with established guidelines from the Company.
• Monitors that customers are waited on promptly and courteously, that product preparation and sanitation standards are complied with. Take appropriate action if above is not done according to standards.
• Review monthly profit and loss statements to ensure corporate objectives along with maximizing store management bonus potential. If a store is falling short of sales and profit objectives, implement and monitor control techniques to ensure objectives are achieved.
• Discuss customer complaints, comment cards, secret shopper reports and any additional feedback with store management to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. Ensure that store management resolves customer complaints in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Conduct random store audits on safe, inventory, milk book, gift certificate log, and employee files.
• Maintain open and honest communication with store management.
• Hold store managers accountable for meeting the Company’s standards and take appropriate action.
• Provide information and tools to aid in store manager’s job.
• Assist Vice President of Retail Operations in special projects and continued, improved development of the retail operation.
