Position Description

Oberweis Dairy is looking for a Sr. Logistics and Distribution Manager. We are looking for a passionate operations leader who has experience developing logistics solutions that meet customer requirements in an efficient and effective manner. This individual will review and contribute to solution designs and also define logistic requirements and processes. Candidate must be self-driven and possess an unyielding commitment to excellence, while maintaining a high sense of urgency in the logistics and fleet operations. Additionally, this individual must be a highly effective communicator that can lead a team of people and work in a high energy environment.

Reports to: CEO

Salary Range: $100k- $120k annually, based on experience

Position Requirements

• Troubleshoot, optimize, and fine tune logistical processes and solutions
• Experience leading a team of managers and route drivers
• Identify issues and recommend and implement solutions
• Interact with business owners in requirements gathering and process improvement initiatives
• Experience in outsourced vendor management
• Experience in supplier management and operations planning, and demand management
• At least 10 years of experience in Supply Chain/Operations
• Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills, attention to details and multi-tasking abilities
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills with the ability to formulate and communicate recommendations for improvement
• Ability to work effectively with others and good interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction
• Strong DOT, OSHA knowledge
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of our organization and translate work process improvement and customer-driven needs into high-level designs
• Ability to travel locally and overnight 25% or as the business requires

Additional "Nice to Haves"

• AS/400 experience or related ERP functionality
• E-Commerce experience
• Understanding of the customer viewpoint

Successful Candidate Description

As a brief summary, we are looking for a Sr. Logistics and Distribution Manager who has demonstrable previous experience. We need someone who understands supplier management and who has developed multiple logistics solutions. This individual must also be able to manage a stream of organizational requests for process modifications in a strategic manner, without becoming buried in minutia and one-off project tasks. In short, the successful candidate is able to manage multiple (sometimes competing) priorities while remaining highly effective as a support pillar for the business in general. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate that they can accurately assess resource requirements necessary to complete a variety of complex projects and that they know how to effectively communicate the need for additional resources, while also successfully conveying the consequences of not having requested resources. The successful candidate must be highly collaborative. They must be able to demonstrate a strong team orientation and teambuilding skills, while being efficient and remaining focused on delivery completion. They must be comfortable setting goals and communicating status.
